If your old mobile number registered with UIDAI has been closed or you want to update your mobile number in Aadhaar card, then you have to visit Aadhaar enrolment centre.
How to Change Mobile Number in Aadhar Card Online ?
One can follow these steps for Aadhar card mobile number update -
Step 1: Visit the online portal of UIDAI.
Step 2: Insert the registered phone number that you wish to update before entering the required captcha code
Step 3: After clicking on the ‘Send OTP’ option, you’ll receive the OTP on your mobile
Step 4: Submit the OTP and move on to the next step.
Step 5: From the ‘Online Aadhaar Services’ menu, choose an option that you want to update (your mobile number, in this case)
Step 6: Provide the necessary information and submit your phone number
Step 7: Once you are redirected to the new page, enter the captcha code
Step 8: After completing the previous step, you will get an OTP on your phone
Step 9: Once you’re done verifying the OTP, click on the ‘Save and Proceed’ option
After following the steps mentioned above, book an appointment at the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre. Visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra at the scheduled time to pay a nominal charge and provide additional documents that might be required to complete this process.
How to Change Mobile Number in Aadhaar Card Online without OTP?
For doing an Aadhar Card mobile number change offline, you can follow these steps:
Step 1: Visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre/Aadhaar Seva Kendra for doing Aadhar card change mobile number without OTP. You can locate the same from UIDAI’s official website.
Step 2: Collect the Aadhaar card mobile number update form from the office and fill in the necessary details, including your new phone number.
Step 3: Contact the official who is responsible for updating your Aadhaar details and submit the form to him.
Step 4: Post biometric authentication, you will need to pay a nominal fee for the service.
Step 5: The executive will hand you the acknowledgement slip, which will have the Update Request Number (URN) on it.
Step 6: You can enter the URN on UIDAI’s website to track the status of your update request. Alternatively, you can also dial 1947. i.e. UIDAI’s toll-free number for the same purpose.
In case you cannot link mobile number to Aadhaar card online, visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre and follow the steps mentioned above.
Note that if you do not update your mobile number with Aadhaar, you will not be able to avail of the wide range of Aadhaar services offered by UIDAI.
